GREAT NEWS!

I am in brag mode--only because I can hardly believe what is currently happening in my life! I was selected somehow to be interviewed by Kate Delaney I would post it but can't find it now! In any case the interview has led to several of her affiliates becoming interested in my book, Finding the Tree . And this interest has led to a trailer being made, an invite at a discounted price for the Frankfurt Book Fest coming up in October and the latest one is for another one of my books, The Last Keeper of the Light, which will take me to the London book fest in March. There has been talk of a film! (I hesitate to mention this for fear of jinxing it!)

I can hardly believe any of it to the point of looking up all these people to make sure they are legit--and they are! Seven Chapters Literary is the main one.

I have to admit that there is money involved in all of this. I have been given incredible deals with discounts on prices, but that doesn't mean it doesn't cost me anything. Will it be worth it? I don't know--I certainly hope so after all the years I've been writing. The praise seems genuine enough--maybe it's just the timing? Finding the Tree is about the tree of life that needs to be saved in order to save humanity, and The Last Keeper of the Light is about the end of civilization as we know it--dystopian/apocalyptic. Both themes seem apropos with the way the world is right now. So, if you haven't read these two maybe you'd be interested?

Here is an excerpt from a letter to Kate Delaney via an affiliate :

Greetings!

I am Krista Mayfield, Agency Head at RCW Literary Agency. We’ve been partners for over a decade and a half, and your radio show has remained one of the standout platforms where we’ve consistently discovered extraordinary literary voices. Your dedication to highlighting powerful storytelling continues to resonate within the industry—and with readers and listeners alike.

While recently exploring episodes on your Podchaser page, we came across your feature with author Nikki Broadwell. Her segment on Finding the Tree held a truly ethereal quality that captivated us from start to finish. Intrigued, we delved deeper into her work and discovered her broader portfolio of fictional titles.

One book that particularly stood out to us is The Last Keeper of the Light: A Dystopian Fantasy. Broadwell’s talent is undeniable—her atmospheric world-building immerses readers in a grim yet beautiful landscape filled with dark forests, desperate scavengers, and the looming threat of raiders. But beyond the post-apocalyptic tension, what makes the story unforgettable is its emotional core. Sandal’s journey is as personal as it is perilous, and Broadwell skillfully captures the fragility of hope in a world where survival is never guaranteed.

The novel is a gripping and emotionally resonant dystopian fantasy that deserves renewed recognition. And that's exactly why we're reaching out.

We at RCW Literary Agency would like to help bring this book back to the level of recognition it truly deserves in the literary world. One of the most prestigious events in the publishing industry—the London Book Fair—will take place again in March 2026. Though it may seem far off, we believe it presents a perfect opportunity for The Last Keeper of the Light to be reintroduced on a global stage.

To support this vision, we would like to offer 50% sponsorship toward Nikki Broadwell’s early registration for the London Book Fair. In addition to this, we will also manage a robust promotional campaign leading up to the event, including:

  • targeted press release campaign

  • YouTube advertisements

  • Social media promotion, and more

This is our way of helping ensure that this exceptional book receives the visibility and acknowledgment it deserves. Though it was published over seven years ago, we believe The Last Keeper of the Light still holds timeless appeal—and we want to prove it by rekindling its engagement with both longtime fans and new readers.

If the response meets or exceeds our expectations, we are also strongly considering supporting an adaptation of the book into a film. We see tremendous cinematic potential in its richly drawn world and emotionally compelling storyline.

We hope to discuss things further with your most trusted team member—or with the individual who has been assisting Nikki Broadwell, if there is someone in particular—so we can move ahead with the next steps.

Thank you once again for continuing to spotlight voices like Nikki Broadwell’s. We look forward to the opportunity to collaborate and help bring this incredible work to even greater heights.

Best,

Krista MayfieldExecutive Agency HeadRCW Literary Agency
